Is SoleMates really free?＋
Yes. SoleMates is 100% free to use while we build the community. No listing fees, no commissions on swaps, no premium tier.
How does the matching algorithm work?＋
Same model, mirrored size. We only show you a listing if their owned size equals your wanted size, AND your owned size equals their wanted size. No near-misses, no upsells.
Can I swap a single shoe?＋
Yes. Amputees, limb-difference athletes and anyone who only needs one shoe can list a single left or single right. Singles only match singles of the opposite side, same model, mirrored size.
What condition do trainers need to be in?＋
Brand-new or barely-worn. Both sides leave a 1–5 star rating after the swap, so dishonest condition tanks your profile fast.
How does shipping work?＋
Once you match, you chat in-app, swap addresses and ship to each other. You each cover your own postage. In-app shipping labels are on the roadmap.
What if my swap partner ghosts me?＋
Hit the report button on the match. We'll cancel the match, free up your listing, and act on repeat offenders. Persistent bad actors get removed.
What brands and models can I swap?＋
Any brand: Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Asics, Puma, On, Hoka, Salomon, Veja, anything. Matches are made on normalised model name plus size, so spelling variants still match.
Do you support UK, US and EU sizes?＋
We store sizes in the system you list in and display both where possible. Match accuracy is best when both listers use the same system, so we prompt you to confirm.
Is my personal information safe?＋
Your address is only shared with a matched swap partner after you both confirm. We never sell your data. You can delete your account and listings at any time.
How do I get started?＋
Sign up free, list your first pair (or single), and start swiping. Most people get a usable match within a few days once their model is in the pool.
